Booked there for this Fri. Thanks for the Rec. Going to see Catherine Jenkins/Darcy Bussle after so should be a good night,
Sorry but it wasn't great. We had to eat early and it was cold especially at the door where they sat us despite the place being almost empty. Every time the door opened we got an icy blast. Soup was good but the main was just cooked fish (frozen?) or skewer of chicken with a drop of sauce on a bed of plain rice. House wine was ok. The party night was just getting started in the bit "ben the hoose" when we left and it looked good but I left feeling we had been neglected. I won't bother going back. The concert was good at the SECC though.0 -
Sorry about that oxter - I went a few weeks ago too and again it was too busy and we were sitting in the front- which I hate. We were also a bit disappointed as it wasnt the same- although the food was still as good and warm. It also seemed to us they were far too many people in for them to cope with- so I will avoid going back in busy times and menyion that I want a seat in the back .Shame because there food was lovley. My friend prefers a greek restaurant- which is very small- called Aris at Eastwoodmains Road, Giffnock so I might give that a try sometime.0

Aris is lovely but a bit more expensive and you really have to book because it is tiny. It is near my Mum's so we eat there regularly and have never had a bad meal.0

La Tasca http://www.latasca.co.uk/ on renfield st is a winner if you like tapas as they do all you can eat for £10 sun-fri 12-6, there is something for everyone there, I recently took my parents (my mum is quite a fussy eater) and they absolutely loved it! They've been back several times without me :rotfl:
Paperinos http://www.paperinosglasgow.com (Sauchiehall st or Byres Rd) Is also lovely. Personally I much prefer the one on Byres road as it is much newer, but the other one is cosy.
La Lanterna http://www.lalanterna.5pm.co.uk/menus.cfm next to central station on Hope street is another great Italian (parents have been going there for 40+years), it's downstairs off the street, so you wouldn't even know you were in the centre of Glasgow once you're in there because it's got such a good atmosphere, no outside noise makes it in!
Yen at the Gala Rotunda out at the SECC http://www.yenrotunda.com/ does oriental cooking and teppanyaki (they cook it at your table infront of you! It's a show in itself). Business lunch here is very reasonable, dinner is fairly expensive if you are just trying it for the first time, but I can thoroughly reccommend it.
Thats all I can think of at the moment, but as soon as I think of more I'll post them up0
