Anybody have any idea where I can find the vacancies list for working for Job Centre Plus? Thinking that if you can't beat them, why not join them?

If I had 8 hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend 6 hours sharpening my axe

I'd just go in and ask! I knew a lady who had worked in a factory for years, got made redundant, and told the JCP she'd love to work for them. She's been there 10 years now!0

Job Centre Plus vacancies are advertised on the DWP website, as well as the usual places.
I start work for them myself at the end of the month, the ad I replied to was in the local paper, also on the jobcentreplus website.
Good luck.0 -

Have to agree! I escaped 7 years ago after a 9 year sentence."How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these."0 -
Don't do it PLEASE they are the worst company i know i got out 2 months ago after a 15 year sentence. They are not interested in their staff or customers they are only interested in getting you to work and the customer service went straight out of the window when we changed from Benefits agency to Jobcentre plus......Apart from anything else there are redundancies any day.0

My friend told her 16-year old son he could only leave school if he had a job as she didn't want him going to the Jobcentre every day.
He got a job at the Jobcentre! :rotfl:

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Kazz, yes they are. But only if you are barely employable. Anything else and they just don't want to know, or care! My experience at the JC has been horrendous. You try and ask for help and they are either rude or just look at you like you're something they've trodden in.
Personally, If I was offered a job with the JC - I would prefer to stay unemployed! Possibly the very worst example of supposed Civil Servants I've ever met.0
