Lloyds Club and Gourmet Society

Got my Gourmet thingy whotsit card this morning from my Lloyds Club thingy whotsit. So I thought I would load up the App.
As in "App, App and Away!".
Well, I must be a bit thick - with mobile phones that is.
I've tried to download the Gourmet Society App onto my mobile phone and failed miserably. My idea was to be able to find a place to eat and use the membership whilst I'm "ite and abite" ("out and about").
The web site print is so minute I could hardly read it.
And then I think I got confused about the difference between:
"Activation Code" (as per literature) and "Verification code" as mentioned on the web site Log In. And then I started getting Windows Phone pop ups and Google Membership pop ups (but at least they were readable).
What a horribly complicated exercise. I gave up in the end. I couldn't do it.
I think I might just make an egg sandwich and take a refillable bottle of water. It could be much easier and cheaper too.
What a rat race we live in!
Rant over.

Can I ask when you changed to Lloyds Club getting fed up of waiting for this gourmet society card to arrive. Was quoted after 13 June which was 6 weeks at least from when I upgraded the account, now we are at 8 weeks and in this day and age I think that is unnecessary. So 2 months of being with Club Lloyds and still not received the benefit they sell the account on.
Is the card dated from when you received it or when you opened the account?
Thanks0 -
I changed my account to Club Lloyds and subscribed to Magazine. After more than a month , i get an email from them that your 'magazine subscription has been added as benefit and you will receive first issue on or after 05/08/2014 (that 2 from now, i have already waited more than month), really (first issue after 3 month of up-gradation)
In this era of technology, it takes Lloyds 3 month to start magazine subscription.. Shame0 -
interesting ramjug, I used tesco points the other day to get a top gear subscription for my husband, instant response via email with the code and then when I put it on the website first edition will be mid July, not even a month, so Lloyds have no excuses it can be done.0

Hi jenfa
I'm sorry to hear of the delay you're experiencing. When opening or upgrading to a Club Lloyds account, we allow a 30 period for customers to make a decision on which benefit they’d like to choose. As such, any documents, cards etc relating to your benefit choice would be sent after 30 days.
In the case of the Gourmet Society card, we aim to dispatch these within 21 days of this date. As it's now been 8 weeks since you upgraded, I'd certainly have expected this to be with you by now.
If you can give our Club Lloyds helpline a call on 0845 303 0303/01733 462224, my colleagues will be happy to look into this.
I hope this helps.

Good Morning
Update, just spoken to club Lloyds benefit advisor who told me once you select benefit there is a 30 day cooling off period and THEN it is still at least another 21 days from that date before you receive your gourmet society card, but it will be 12 months from that date.
Either I haven't read this properly (could be) or it needs to be clearer on the website and the email I received from Club Lloyds just says it could be another 21 days not it takes gourmet society a further 21 days to process, to me there is a big difference as to when as a customer you start chasing these things. Obviously this is a new scheme but hopefully feedback from customers counts?0 -

Hi ramjug,
When you change your account to Club Lloyds you have 30 days to choose or change your benefit. That's why it took around a month for you to receive the magazine subscription confirmation. You then need to allow up to 6 weeks for delivery of your first issue. Sorry if that's caused some frustration.
You can find info in the terms & conditions for the Club Lloyds benefits.
Thanks,

Glad to hear my colleague was able to confirm those details, jenfa, and thanks for the feedback. You can find some info on the 30 day and 21 day period timescales within our FAQ section and the terms & conditions for the Club Lloyds benefits.
