Housing Benefit

I've lost my job and want to claim housing benefit, but not JSA as I will live off my credit cards until I find another job. I'll be transferring a sum from my credit card to my bank account. Can I claim Housing Benefit on low income only?

Yes you can on nil income. But don't be an idiot and rack up your credit card debts as you have no idea how long you will be unemployed better still to claim JSA. How much are your credit card repayments? These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0
