Lost Receipt But Have a Note of the Tracking Number..... Lost Parcel?

sold an item on eBay for £50 ish. Sent it recorded over 2 weeks ago (second class) and the track and trace site says it's being "processed through the network for delivery", so looks like it's been lost. I've asked the buyer to check with their neighbours and sorting office, but so far, no luck.
I have lost the receipt, but I have a note of the tracking number.
Will RM pay out for the lost item, does any one know?
