Econ 7 CLOCK WRONG!!

Hi, I have both gas & Elec with BG. We had a couple of power cuts recently ammounting to 4-6 hours I guess. Meter reader called 2 weeks ago and advised that we need an engineer to correct the clock on the elec meters as they were 12 HOURS OUT. No contact as yet!
Can any one tell me what implication this has for the cost of electricity usage in Day and Night please.

Someone else had this problem on here. Roughly, it means that you will pay for daytime usage at the night rate and nightime usage at the day rate.

Don't they make any allowance for this if it's not to your advantage?

I think they should/will ,especially as the power cuts were presumably no the ops fault.

I would definately ring them and enquire

My clock has been wrong for the last 7 years. My cheap rate doesn't click in until 2 1/2 hrs after it should which mean I get cheap rate until 10:30 in the morning. I rang and told them when I first noticed but they didn't send anyone to change it and subsequent metre readers havn't said anything. To be honest having econ 7 available until 10:30 am suits me fine as I can get a second load of washing, dishwashing, tumble drying done.

If they have been made aware of the problem you are covered. If the new econ 7 times suit you better I certainly wouldn't tell them a second time!

From what I can gather your econ 7 is currently afternoon and evening due to the clock being 12hrs out. Move all your high drain usage to this time and you will be much better off than you were before the clock error. Yo're awake and able to do more for one thing.
