I recently bought a 6 year old honda that did not have a dealers warranty. Can anyone share any good experiences they have had. There seem to be a lot of companies out there with stacks of terms and conditions. Is this a product that's worth the paper it's printed on or should I just put £300 ish cost towards any potential repairs??
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Following this, can anyone help? Im also looking at buying a 5/6 YO Honda Jazz and wanted to know if anyone had any dealings with extended warranty companies0

Manufacturers warranty or dont bother.
These used car warranties exclude wear and tear. Is there anything on a 5/6 year old car that wont be worn to some degree?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Not always, they don't.
I am more than satisfied with the warranties administered by Car Care Plan who administer Vauxhall's warranties (at least they used to) and also CSMA's warranty. http://www.csmaclub.co.uk/shop/carshop/carwarranty
.. and a failed part (such as a head gasket) isn't classed as wear and tear.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

Vehicle over 5 years old only named parts are covered. Lots of exclusions.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

I bought an 8 year old Megane once, and the head gasket went on the drive home from the dealers (independent), the cheap 6 month warranty the dealer supplied with it did actually cover the parts and labour completely.
You need to consider all the non-wear-and-tear things that could go wrong with the car and see if they are covered. Check that the warranty covers parts and labour, and all their weasel-like exclusions, excesses, and caps. No easy answer I'm afraid, just have to do the homework.0 -
Hi,
Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place. but here goes.
I brought a used 2010 Nissan Juke last month 20/05/2014. The drivers leather seat has started to split along a crease in the leather. I have contacted the local dealer as to whether this would be covered under the 6 months warranty which was supplied with the vehicle. They have said no as only mechanical failure is covered.
I have emailed the supplying dealer, as follows "I am emailing you reference the Nissan Juke Juke reg **** ***, which I purchased from you last month 20/05/2014. The front driver’s seat is starting to split, please see attached digital photographs. It seems to be splitting on a crease. It has not been caught or ripped by anything, as you can see by the attached images. I have been to my local Seat dealer, who has informed me that this will not be covered by the 6 months warranty cover I have. Obviously I am disappointed as having spent over £10.000.00 on the vehicle & having such low mileage, I would not have expected the seat to start splitting after just 1 months use.
The reason for this email is to ask if your dealership will cover the costs of having the seat repaired.
I look forward to your reply"
They have replied with " My first suggestion would be to have the seat inspected by a Nissan dealer to enquire if there would be some form of goodwill because of the low mileage".

I am unsure as to how to proceed, as I think my contract is with the dealer I purchased the car from, not Nissan.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
