PVC or Marble tiles for Kitchen window sill?

Hi

I've just had my kitchen renovated and I'm at the stage of putting on the wall tiles (marble). My kitchen fitter recommends that I don't put these marbles tiles on the kitchen window sill as it could cause Porous between the tiles over the years when water is splashes in this area, he suggest putting PVC for the kitchen window sill.

I would really like the marble tiles on there.

Can anyone give me their experience and perspective? Does he have an validity in what he is saying?

best option .. put the tiles there anyway they are yours after all, if they become damaged over time you can always replace or cover over with pvc

It is your kitchen and if you want the tiles, go for them!

You may need to reseal the tiles once or twice a year on a flat surface which will get wet, but it really is not that big a deal.

You will spend years looking at that PVC window sill otherwise wishing you had gone for the tiles!
