Howdens kitchens - Greenwich v Glendevon

MSE seems to be the main forum that people talk about Howdens so maybe someone can help.
I have had someone from Howdens out to take measurements so am awaiting a quote when they pass it onto the kitchen fitter.
I like simple stuff so have narrowed it down to Glendevon and Greenwich designs.
I will generally be going for a basic kitchen (i.e no curves and probably no fancy drawers/cupboards).
So I went down to Howdens and looked at both of the above. The staff informed me Glendevon was more expensive because it was a better door. I assume thicker.
Is that pretty much it?
I felt the Glendevon set up was nicer as it was all fully kitted out where with the Greenwich it was just the units with the worktop and the cheap hinge -so it looks like they were designed at etxremes - Glendevon to be better and Greenwich to be basic.
Does anyone know what the difference are and I know it is difficult to say but do they have a rough % difference in price (with or without the so called discount)?

morning. see my previous threads on howdens for back ground info on what we got.
we got pretty much the same as you, basic straight forward kitchen but chose the glendevon over the greenwhich.
from what the sales man said, i know hes a sales man and cant lie straight in bed, he said the doors are thicker, heavier and fully wrapped so dont warp and look better. the hinges are cool too. they said they created the greenwich range to compete against cheaper kitchen markers.
our kicthen, without appliances, cost 4k and when i said how much could we save by getting the cheaper doors he said about £900 so 25%. but when u consider we spent a total of 7.5k (with appliances, tiles and electris etc, a £900 saving didnt seem worth it.
it comes down to budget and how long ur staying there i suppose.

Thanks
I have checked with Howdens now
1 - one has cheaper chipboard and one is MDF
2 - one is 15mm and other is 18mm thick
3 - regarding the atcual stuff that covers the wood to give it colour - one is made up of seperate sheets and one is fully covered with no/less joins
ultimatley that may lead to a better door but not sure if it is a massive difference in real life - I think I need to see some doors to be honest.
In the demo models I saw the main difference appeared to be the soft close mechanism - made the doors feel very different.0 -
the hinges are a upgrade so wont come as standard on the glendevon anyway or you can upgradge th greenwich to have the soft close.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
