Bovis extras

Hi,
Let me start by saying that we got the deal with bovis on the house price and stamp duty. We have come to the added extras and some of these seem expensive:
3 x bathrooms = £550 each to fully tile they come half tiled as standard.
Kitchen work top = £2200 for the upgrade, the standard is really cheap looking.
Anyone got any experience with the extras and how the prices compare to getting a tradesman in?

Without knowing what type of extras you are having it is not possible to say whether it is expensive or not?
For example, they will have to install a worktop anyway, so the extra £2,200 is apparently just for materials. Then discount the cost of the original cheap worktop. What will the new one be made of?
To half tile a bathroom, £550 seems expensive at first glance, but are you having different tiles to the normal cheap standard ones? What is the extra meterage being tiled?
I would expect to pay around £550 to tile an average size family bathroom, 2 days labour @ £200 a day, £150 materials, all approximate so give 10% each way.
The problem you would have in getting your own tradespeople in is dovetailing them in with the Bovis labour.

They won't let you send your own tradesman in. This is a closed market, they charge what they want, and it is easy profit for them.0
