Deanshanger/Old Stratford - Milton Keynes, any good?

So my folks and I are moving to the back of beyond into Deanshanger (not my choice) and just wondered if any of you live there and what it is like?
I currently live 1mile from the centre of Milton Keynes and fear it is going to be like living in London and suddenly living in Midsummer Village. I fear boredom may send me out of my mind.

Its only a short drive to MK and you do have a pub, in Deanshanger.
I briefly lived in Wicken, about 3 miles into next village from a few years ago, where it was like a ghost village, daytime and not much better at night.

I don't drive (as I'm too poor) but am going to get a moped of some sort so I can still go back to MK but just wondered what was within walking distance of Deanshanger. The truth is out there... and I want to believe0

I know of a 93 year old living in Deanshanger who cycles to MK and back.
So I'm sure you'll manage to get yourself into the bright lights of the centre........ it's really not that far!0 -

I've looked at the buses and its around 38 minutes to the city and its every 60 minutes with none on Sundays. I am used to buses being every 15 minutes and every half an hour on a Sunday. The truth is out there... and I want to believe0
