First Utility keep asking for more money
Options
I am on a fixed DD, I signed up with them last Dec. I had an e-mail the other day asking me to pay £81.30. They appologised and gave me some compo and promised to stop the e-mails.
Today I get a more threatening e-mail asking for £130, so again I have complained.
Anyone else having this problem? Tempted to go to ofgem now.

This shows my current usage but my current meter reading today is 13184. Does'nt make sense, how can the meter reading in my usage for 07/06 be 13201??0 -
Notice that E by the number, it means "Estimate".0

I started with First Utility and paid them £80/m for gas and electric (previously I was on about £75/m) First Utility said I was using too much and wanted £100/m. After agreement it was increased to £90/m. A couple of months later they wanted £115/m!!
They said based on their financial model and based on my usage that I would be underpaying.....
I am now out of my contract and moved. (New supplier is charging me £78/m.) I am about £150-ish in credit at the moment
They got the final bill wrong, so I have disputed the bill. It still remains unresolved 7 weeks after I have ceased receiving supply from them.
OK....
So if First Utility is so keen not to over charge then why do they ask for a meter reading around 20th of the month? Then completely ignore it and makes it own figures up at the end of the month for usage and make demands for increased payments?
Is this about giving the customer apparent control?
So what is the purpose of taking the reading. In the olden days all bills were done on estimates and if the reading was out then you could substitute your own.0 -

Olden days? Thats exactly how my billing still works.0 -
Its the same issue I have, they have estimated and started asking me for money with final demands. I am on a fixed DD so assumed this would not happen. They have not reviewed my DD since I started.0
