School Blazers

Can anybody recommend a decent quality navy blue school blazer for my son? I purchased M&S last year (the school allow you sew on their school badge) and it has gone more of a purple colour and is so mis-shapen it looks like he has slept in it:rotfl: It is such poor quality and I have noticed a lot of their clothing lines are now poor quality.

I have had a look at John Lewis who do a navy one that looks nice but I thought I would get recommendations on here. I have checked Tesco as I really like their shirts and trousers which have washed/ironed quite well but they only do black blazers.

Many thanks for reading.

I've bought from school supplier, m&s and more recently Debenhams. I found m&s the best of a bad bunch, like you finding the shape and colour were compromised by frequent washing.

Have you tried the tumble dryer dry clean method. The last blazer held it's shape and colour when cleaning it this way!
  • The problem I have with not washing it is he comes home covered in mud and every other stain imaginable - he is a magnet for anything dirty:D

I might have a look at the John Lewis ones, I am reluctant to use M&S again, it really is awful, totally a different colour and like a rag. It has only been on a 30 deg wash too.

Any other recommendations would be great.

    Thanks for replying

We use a company called monk house school wear. They have a few shops in north but I think they do online too. Excellent quality.
  • Many thanks, I will have a look now.

  • I would just like to say thank you to Monty-doggy for recommending Monkhouse, the schoolwear looks great quality and they even have his school listed so I don't even have to sew on the badge!:j

I knew I would get some good recommendations on here.

    Take Care

Brill glad I could help! My step kids uniform still looks like new and I bought the blazers last summer!

For others, I had some BHS blazers and they were brilliant.

I think you can order Navy Blue blazers from Tesco on line. They quite cheap but seem to wash up ok!
