first utility

Hi,

One of my friends wanted me to get a quote from first utility for my gas and electric.

So I went through the quote process on their website and it suggests that I can save up to £145 by taking on a 2 year fixed duel fuel tariff with them.

However, I am on a 1 year fixed tariff with SSE which still has 6 months to run, and I am tied into a contract for that period of time.

My questions are:
1, What are the penalties if I was to break the contract with SSE?
2, How reliable are the rates quoted by first utility?
3, Are first utility any good at all?

I do want to help my friend, but I am not really sure if it's going to be worthwhile for me.
