Extractor Fan recommendations?

Hi Guys,

My bathroom is upstairs with no external windows, we did have a old extractor fan in there but that has stopped working. I need to get a new one any recommendations?

We have a relatively new-ish fan in our ftb but it wasn't working. Electrician Friend said transformer had gone and the actual fan was a little scummy so after his advice, purchase this as it was a straight swap: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170951425430?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Depends on how old your fan and electrics are it may be a straight swap like ours but if not, get a sparky in to fit.

Do a search and you should see lots of useful advice about extractor fans.

You can get ones with a timer or a humidistat and there are advantages and disadvantages to both.
  • I was looking at Nuaire extractor fans, but really difficult to decide which one to buy!

Had seen their other ventilation systems come highly recommended.

We've got an Icon15 in our downstairs loo, but they do an Icon30 for bathrooms I think, that works in the same way. It's quiet and has an opening "iris" so isn't draughty when shut (our old fan was). We've just got ours wired in to come on at the same time as the pullcord light, but you can add different "modules" I think, so pullcord, timer, humidity and PIR occupancy sensor control. You can also change the front to a different colour if you don't want white as well. Basically I think you buy the standard base unit and then add optional extras if you want to.
