Accident just before car insurance renewal

Hi,
My car insurance is up for renewal - but there is an ongoing claim with the old insurer. Obviously one of the questions is what the cost of the claim is/was - information I don't have.
Any suggestions on what I should do?
Thanks.

Tell them you don't know, the claim is ongoing and not yet concluded.0

The problem is that most of the price comparison sites don't have a facility to do that. The best thing to do is do some dummy quotes using a fake name/address to find the lowest quite, then call them up and explain the situation.0

An open claim should be declared as a loss/fault claim. I'd call them and see if they will back-date to a non-fault claim if it turns out that way."Always fulfil your needs, only fulfil your wants when your needs are no longer a concern" - citricsquid0
