Middle aged women using stand up scooters for commuting?

Options
Have to say it looks daft, especially when they also wear a backpack - makes them look like overgrown tweens [is that the term for young teens?]

I think they're used by people who dont need to commute too far and those who are too scared to cycle on the roads so now they are inconveniencing pedestrians with this [expletive], riding their scooters on the walkways.

Is it alright if I'm a middle aged bloke who uses one?

Quicker than walking between jobs and easier to transport in a customers car than a bike, cheaper than a taxi :)
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

Makes sense to me.... why be ageist about it?
I'd want one if it were affordable and lightweight.

Are you talking about a scooter or a middle aged woman?

I am one of those, so I'd want the other.
    Clue: scooters can't type.

I actually know a middle aged woman who uses one - and she does very well with it - its a seriously cycle-unfriendly town with bus fares that are extortionate and timetables that are a work of pure fiction.

She saves a huge amount of money and time every year by using it and does not care one-whit about what the rest of the world thinks! :p:D

She also used to use a little petrol one before they were banned.
