    Another vote for Cumbrian Cottages. We've used them many times and always found their properties to be accurately described, no surprises

    But they didn't say they were better or worse than anyone else....

    Do you recommend things that are worse than anyone else?

    No, but, as is the case here, if I had used someone for a long period of time and found their service levels to be of a good standard relative to my expectations then I would feel confident in recommending.

    Anyway, slightly more on topic, we stayed in a place called the Old Vicarage in Naddle just outside Keswick last year and it was decent, though in terms of the original poster not level access so probably not suitable.
