Sorry chaps, but for those on a budget, buying one extra jar of pickles, sauces, mustard, pack of stuffing, gravy etc. now will make the 26 week countdown a lot easier on the purse.

Also, if you can reserve one shelf in the cupboard or one tray in the freezer - maybe buy a bag of sprouts, parsnips etc now - to keep these separate, and out of bounds until Christmas try putting them in a separate bag.

Noticed that Asda have some roll back prices on chutneys at the mo.

My aim is to not have to worry about anything other than fresh stuff; ie. meat, fruit, veg, salad, dairy in the week up to Christmas.

We are rather prepared all ready, we still have cranberry from last year because I buy long dates, streaky bacon for pigs in blankets are bought as are the cocktail sausages for them, the turkey is bought, we will have a fresh one if money allows come December. Cheating roasting pans are bought. The pate for a nice breakfast is bought too and black pudding for boxing day breakfast too.

I am feeling very chilled about christmas aside from the presents I have normally finished by now, I think I will buy the work lot generic items and nice presents for a select few.

It may sound daft, but also stash away loo rolls, toothpaste, shampoo, kitchen roll, foil, cling film, long life milk etc.

Pretend you are snowed in for two weeks.

I'm planning already. Storage is always an issue but worth it when i come to Christmas Eve and we are totally chilled and friends and family are running around like headless chickens :)

I start my C*******s stashing when I come home from my holidays at the end of August.I usually start buying presents when I am away on holiday if I can and start to put them in my spare room in my stash box.Where I have lots of little bits and bobs I have found in the shops for little wrapped 'tree' pressies.usually smallies for females and socks 'n' after shave stuf for male grandchildren I have five of those to buy for and two DGDS.I don't have the room at the moment in my freezer to store frozen food stuff yet.
