HP Slate 10. Is it locked to Three..??

Hello there,
I was thinking about buying this HP Slate 10 HD.
I understand it has mobile data connectivity and 2 years of free internet etc... what I don't understand is whether the tablet is locked to the Three network or I can use any another sim to connect to the internet.
Also, is the interface heavily customised?

Thank you in advance.

In future, when asking a question such as this.
It helps to provide a link.

    I assume you mean this?

It states 3g data provided. not 3 network.

It is not locked to 3 according to the user manual, so yes you could use another networks SIM, presumably because
"two years mobile internet service up to 250MB per month"

    Hi, thanks for the reply.
I was looking at the following links:

    Argos

    Amazon

the 3G is provided by Three. I just wondered whether it is a deal similar to mobile phones contracts where the phone tied to a carrier is cheaper than its "sim-free" brothers.
Basically I need to put another data sim and be sure it works.

I know it could probably be debranded/unlocked but I'd rather avoid this as it will void the warranty.

thank you for the info. I was thinking that 250 MB per month is not much and this could be a trick to lure customers to buy additional data if the device is locked to Three.

Reading a thread on another forum it appears that once you run out of data the SIM could be swapped for a Samba SIM (which is no longer in business by the way) but Samba used to run on the Three network so this doesn't help me.
For example I have a giffgaff SIM that can be used on O2-locked phones.

The DataPass service is locked into 3, but the tablet isn't. FAQs here http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/show.aspx?p=freemobility-faq

    thank you... :T

    Additional questions:
Can I take out the HP SIM card and introduce another one with a different operator/plan?
You can replace the SIM card with one from another operator but you will not be able to enjoy the benefits of HP DataPass services or use the included data that come with the purchase of this device.

Yes and you may find something like this SIM here or similar good value.

    however, that one states:-

This SIM will only work in a mobile phone and not a stick, router or tablet

so would need to find similar without that restriction
