Ideally would sort of size should logs be split in, for storage / seasoning and then for log burning in indoor fires / stoves?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Cut them to what ever you can fit in your stove no point cutting to 16" lengths if you can only fit 12" logs in. I would do a mix of thicknesses too, the thicker the log the longer it burns aim for 4" to 6" and then just increase or decrease the log sizes to find the size that suits your fire best.0

With wood though you NEVER want to what we call slumber burn - in other words burn it slowly.
Slumber burning is extremely bad for chimneys and flues and can very quickly lead to premature blockages - tarring up and heavy creosote thus leading to a much higher risk of having a chimney fire. Even dry seasoned wood should not be slumber burnt.
Wood needs to be burnt hot at all times anything less than 230 F and you are treading on dangerous ground - ideal burn temps 230 - 400 FYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
