Nectar points on ebay...proceed with caution!!

Hi everyone.
Just thought I would put this one out there, as it has become apparent that I won't be getting any help from nectar OR ebay with this!
I recently discovered I had 1,945 nectar points (not much I know, but don't use nectar that often) and that I could convert these points to ebay vouchers to spend on ebay. Well, I converted 1500 nectar points on ebay ...or so I thought!! The points were worth £7.50 and were deducted from my nectar balance immediately, however the corresponding ebay vouchers were nowhere to be found on my ebay account! I called ebay, who were as useful as a chocolate teapot. They informed me that the vouchers would show up when I checked out my items and when I informed them that this was not the case, basically asked me to contact nectar. I contacted nectar and spoke to two members of their customer team who assured me that the points would be added back onto my nectar card the next day. However, the next day I received an e-mail from nectar informing me that the nectar points could not be added onto my account. In my opinion this is highly fraudulent...
Without ranting too much, I just wanted to warn other customers to BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN CONVERTING NECTAR POINTS TO EBAY VOUCHERS!! Personally, I would just avoid using nectar on ebay as there is a possibility you will lose out altogether.

The problem I suspect will be that there is a £10 minimum use of nectar ebay vouchers and you only have £7.50.0

It's the same in Sainsbury/Homebase etc. You MUST read the Nectar terms & conditions. I had to have a min of 2000 to convert in homebase recently & they took more & gave me a better discount off the paint we bought. However it is min 250 in Sainsbury. I get them from all ebay's - homebase - brit gas - sains. & I am sure I miss a few. Always worth it.0

The train companies were also giving either 200 or 400 for signing up with them a few weeks ago as per MSE email so worth checking if they are still giving Nectar points for signing up. There were a few train companies giving them but I'm sure I got 400 for signing up with a few. Possibly a loophole which they tightened as it originally stated (I think) that you would get 200 for each one but I'm delighted to have received 400 as it all adds up in a year."For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."0

I justed exchanged and used 1500 of nectar points on ebay with no problem. After purchasing, when the paypal page came up there was a tick box near the bottom for using the vouchers, ticked that which took £7.50 off the price, rest paid via paypal.0

Thanks for the feedback guys
@gik, I am aware that to be able to use your nectar points on ebay you must have a minimum spend of £10 - including postage for the item - which I did. As such I should have been able to use the points.... but thanks anyway, I guess I was just unlucky! Maybe there was a glitch in the system when I used it, but hey, I've moved on...I just wanted other users to be aware that this is something that CAN happen...
