What's happened to Malwarebytes?

If that's their view, fine - but it isn't typical!
Malwarebytes, arguably the leading and most trusted anti-malware scanner.....
vets the site.
approves the site
confirms that their downloads via File Hippo never have any software or programmes bundled with them.
But you are implying that File Hippo is unsafe?
So it's ok to trust their scan results but not their endorsement of File Hippo?0 -
What I meant was that MOST 'software authors' suggest that you go to their own website to download their software. Malwarebytes is a partial exception.0

I've found a number direct their "free version" download links to CNet too. I would alway make my first port of call the software originator.
Lots of free software pushes their paid version as we have seen here.
More annoying are the umpteen free toolbars and other junk some include - as that sort of thing is what Malwarebytes finds (aprt from real malware) it would be rather amusing if MWB bundled anything of that nature..
The really annoying ones are when you get something you didn't want and didn't get an option to miss although as often as not you did but failed to spot it...0 -
The new UI looks horrible. It now looks just like the scam anti-malware programs it's supposed to protect you from.0

I have uninstalled and re-installed and mine still says at the top "your trial has expired".
ETA:- I found a link at the bottom of the Malware bytes home screen saying end free trial and now the banner at the top is green and saying it's the free version!Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £16,087.170 -

I'll run a scan now and see if my free version tries this on.

After the update you get a fresh install which ends with an option to start the trail...
Tried this and the same thing happened as before - I didn't get the two options that you show:eek:
My dashboard shows all four items with a green tick:mad:
So will have to uninstall it again now.
Help!!! Should I just go through Filehippo and download the 1.75 versions?Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
I am not exactly sure what you are clicking on but before you try anything else completely remove Malwarebytes with their removal tool before installing a fresh copy.
Just using the Windows Add/Remove Programmes can leave some behind traces of the old install which can corrupt the fresh installation.
Version 1.75 is fine - in fact I prefer it to the latest version. Try the File Hippo download from here (older versions listed top right hand side).0 -
