What's happened to Malwarebytes?

Marwarebytes changed its GUI several months ago, but you might just have caught up.
Get it from the link in kwikbreaks' post #6 (forget about FileHippo), and be on the lookout for all the suggestions about Trial and/or Premium versions, as everyone has already said, and just choose Free throughout the process!
Out of interest, why do you say forget about FileHippo? As far as I am aware, that has always been the recommended download site on here.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
Usually the latest version but some reviewers have been underwhelmed by version 2, in which case try version 1.75.0
-
Is any particular version preferable? Just wondered, as it gives you a choice of several:o
Don't use FileHippo, you might get more than you bargained for, download directly from here
Click on the orange box - Free version download:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Qoute from Malwarebytes Support site...Click our link http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download to start. You will then be redirected to one of several download sites.
Alternatively, to download from FileHippo.com, click on the following link: https://www.filehippo.com0 -
Assuming it works then the answer given in post #5 seems to be the simpklest option -
The only reason I suggested uninstall/download/install was because it seemed the full product was confusing the OP and as I've never trialled it I wasn't aware of the option to end the trial immediately.Just switch-off the free trial in the upper right and it reverts to the free version with a few interface.0 -
I would imagine that the first port of call for downloading software is always the software-writer's/manufacturer's website, to minimise (one hopes) the possibility of getting a virus-ridden version, and additionally to obtain the latest clean version.Out of interest, why do you say forget about FileHippo? As far as I am aware, that has always been the recommended download site on here.
Only if that is not available, or the manufacturer suggests it, would one go to a reputable consolidation site like FileHippo or CNET or Softpedia or Tucows or...
To be avoided is a site you've never heard of!0 -

Further quote from Malwarebytes Support....The use of such download sites allows us to reach a much larger pool of users than if we were to only host the downloads on our site, which would actually produce such a heavy burden on our server infrastructure that we would have a difficult time keeping our sites running.
All these sites have been vetted and our downloads never have any additional software or programs bundled with them, which is the biggest concern users have when using these sites.0 -
If that's their view, fine - but it isn't typical!0
