Showing how much she was in touch with "the common man"- I don't think!

Best not start on politics - that's one slippery slope (RIP Maggie? I don't think so!)

    How about religion instead?

A thread which now includes football, religion and politics! Considering that arguments start up here over whether there is or isn't an 'r' in the month, it will be 'interesting' to see where this leads.

Love the pic of Gazza as ref, and defo the one of Thatch playing footie - OMG, as a footie fan, it makes me feel kind've dirty.

Question (inspired by what Bluebella said earlier in thread), are we cheering on England tonight? I mean, do we want them to play really well and win, or would that not rub a mountain of salt in the wound? Having said that, I can't imagine not wanting them to win. But Blue girl is right in that if they win, and win good, it will hurt.

In answer to your first point :eek::eek:

In answer to your second point - it sounds like Roy is making wholesale changes to 'blood' some new players who may or may not be part of the Euro 2016 squad. A part of me hopes they do really well to 'show up' the so-called experienced, 'A squad' members, but it could also go the other way and we could come away super embarassed by the whole experience.

Nevertheless I'll be rooting for the team - such is the life of the England fan - ho hum :p:D

Yes he was good at the rear, and had the ability and stamina to push on hard up the field, which was very satisfying for all involved. some times though he'd be forced to come off early.

And nobody could touch him for his ability at making effective passes. With JT, you could rely on him scoring at some point.
