Can I ask a footie question please? I like watching the players kick the ball around the pitch and aim towards their opponents goal but the rules confuse me completely!......So if England are out of the cup then why do they still have to play Costa Rica on Tuesday?

At this stage of the comp, they're playing in what they call mini-leagues. 4 teams per group. The top 2 teams qualify to the next round, the bottom 2 don't, based on the total points they accumulate in that group's games. England are not out yet, because they haven't played all the matches in their group. But they now cannot get enough points to make it to the top 2 places, no matter what. So we talk of them being out now, only because they cannot now get through to the next round.
Is that as clear as mud?

Yes, if they thrash Costa Rica on Tuesday eg 5-0 then the fans will be after their heads when they return to English ground!
