Why won't L&G insure us?

We're about to buy our first home and are in the process of getting home insurance quotes, using the MSE method.
Had some fairly cheap quotes (they actually come out cheaper than my last contents-only quotes), but when I tried L&G, a big green Sorry, we can't offer you cover on this occasion.
came up next to property build date (1930) and the postcode (OK it's not the best area, but not too bad).
Anyone got any idea why this would be? It's got me worried now!

Worker in, and passionate advocate of, the credit union movement. I don't speak for the sector or for any individual CU. My opinions & experiences are my own.
Search MSE for more info about CUs and find ones that cover your area by searching online for 'find your credit union'.

It's their choice whether or not they offer cover, but nothing to worry about if you are getting plenty other quotes. (There's no need to disclose it if that's your worry)0

As Nev from the Call Centre would say...
Some will, some won't, so what, next!0 -
They may have had a lot of claims for your postcode and decide they dont want to cover that area.
But other companies may have had zero claims so well priced.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
