It's still there. Wake up, Heidy.

You don't need a special camcorder for YouTube, as high quality is not necessary.

Most modern digital cameras have a video(camcorder) function. Just look out for VGA specification. 640 x 480 Pixels at 30fps with sound.

Not all have the ability to zoom whilst shooting the video without losing the sound. I think the new Casio cameras can.

Thanks for that useful info I was nearly going for a Panasonic Camcorder for 339 £ Sterling from www.qvcuk.com I need to evaluate if its a quality camera for use with YouTube?

I suppose Argos have this Digital Cameras excluded from their 30 day gaurantee.?

I checked which Uk Consumer Guide 2nd July 2007 Casio Cams did NOT feature in their Best Buy Listings.

I have a Samsung UCA 5 Digital camera that shoots at 640 x 480 pixels @ 30 fps in the Xvid(MPEG 4) format. That gives me 67 minutes of video from a 1 GB memory card. Cost me around £80.

Very easy to transfer and edit the footage.

Some Digital cameras(Canon etc) don't use MPEG 4 compression, so you may only get 11 minutes per GB.

Don't waste cash(unless you want to) on an expensive camcorder for YouTube use, as they have to reduce it to MPEG 1 quality anyway.

We'll look at the editing software later.

Your email address is still in your first post. Edit it.

Samsung Digital Cam? What You Think Of Which Uk Magazine Online?
Which July 2007 Review Bestbuys Samsung did Not even reach Bestbuys,
but I take your point for YouTube.com Cheap & Cheerful is best.

Is it a was of money too going for Samsung Digital Camera over 5 Mega Pixels

You heard of the Vivitar Brand.

  • Trouble is YouTube dont support Good Quality vids, so paying £399 is a waste just for YouTube. If it was for DVD & Family then you need a Good Camera. But Websites like YouTube a Digital Camera or a MP4 Camera off eBay for £40-90 is good enough.

My old Samsunch A6 (6MP) has VGA Camcorder (640x480) & thats good. You need to make sure the Video is saved as AVI if you wanted to Edit them a LOT. Some are QT or RM files.... Most Camera's give you Ulead Video Studio (FREE) to use on PC, so you can Edit & Add Text/Images & Effects to it & save as DivX / X-Vid & upload to YouTube
