World Travel insurance for over 60s

Hello, partner (65) and I (60) going to Vietnam & Cambodia later this year and have been strongly advised to get travel insurance which includes medical evacuation cover. Can anyone recommend a reputable company? There appears to be many companies to choose from on Compare the Market type websites but it looks like I've have to read through pages and pages of smallprint to establish what we're actually covered for. Thankyou.

Saga, might be a good bet.Private Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA0

Have you looked at the MoneySavingExpert page, which has sections for Over-65s, pre-existing conditions etc?

I've never heard if evacuation insurance. We are regular travellers, 67 & 71, and have worldwide insurance with Aviva.
We did have a typhoon when we were in Vietnam last year, but were very well looked after by our Saga guide.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Once you are over 60 insurance becomes expensive even without any past medical problems. The cheapest by far is to open a joint current account with Halifax or Nationwide and you will get Worldwide Travel/Medical Insurance for £10 /month for you both.0

We get our insurance from the M&S Premium Club, included in our £15 per month. This covers up to age 80. You'd need to check about evacuation cover, but they do pay out without fuss. We had to cancel a holiday at short notice when my mum died, and the claim process was hassle freeEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Last year I was in krakowdirect.com. I get my insurance from the Alianzdirect.0

Do you mean repatriation in the event of a medical emergency?
According to this, it's covered under all standard travel insurance policies. Usually you will find repatriation under the medical emergency expenses section of the terms and conditions.

Not sure if it's true or not.0
