But ignoring these cheeky blighters :), there are many different kinds of share dealing. What are you after? You will get advice for free from me, but I hate paying anyone for anything ;)

how would i find out when/where there are any share dealing/trading seminars or talks local to where I live?
    Cheers

Why would you want to find out about these? People who make money from trading (people such as me) don't give seminars, we just get on with making money.

    Not really it's my job.

I can't see the arrogant bit? I make money from shares, and it's not difficult, and it's not my job. Does that make me arrogant?

There are some superb courses. I have taken one by Jeremy du Plessis and others by David Linton from updata. They are in London and are very thorough and a superb investment. My trading and investments have come on in leaps and bounds since then. I took the courses and also learnt to spread bet via tiny bets and TA, paper trading does not work on a psychological level btw.I did all this prior to taking responsibility for my sipp and more importantly, my husbands sipp which contains all his pension funds, now vested by me and increased by at least 70% since 2006. Definitely worth the investment

Btw, I have seen several traders (gamblers) who started off winning and then go on to lose it all and the house and also redundancy. Best to do the TA groundwork first

And for how many business cycles have you consistently made money?
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.

Do you mean from a personal or business/ shareholder perspective?

Every year for twenty years now.

Actually, edited to say that's not quite right. I inherited an awful position when a colleague left a few years back, and by the time I'd closed out the worst parts I was down enough to offset the profits from my main job.

The final sum next to my name at the end of the year was a negative number, and despite everyone pretty much agreeing that it was caused by the previous guy's positions, it still meant I didn't get paid that year.
