foreign EU drivers - what are the rules for them?

Its so obvious yet nobody wants to say it, there's an elephant in the room, the rules are only really there to make money from honest, hard working, tax paying citizens.
Half of Bradford are still uninsured and foreign car owners park on double yellow lines with impunity.
Oh and BTW, nobody needs to display a tax disc after October this year.
I need a new tax disc holder for my kit car, but at £15 for a fancy new one (motorbike tax disc holder) I'll just celotape it until October.
Getting rid of the paper disc is partly to save money and partly to stop people complaining about untaxed minority groups (including eastern Europeans), who the authorities have no interest in pursuing ,because it costs too much and looks like politically incorrect persecution.
There's also the issue of cheap labour, where companies make large sums of money by employing underpaid foreign workers, a slice of which might make its way into a large brown envelope in order to "keep the status quo".
Its a dirty and unfair world, you work hard, you fall into the "consumerism = social status" trap, you fall into the debt trap, you become nothing more than a cash cow for the elite.
Ever watched "The Matrix"? Its not as fictional as you might think.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

And neither is the Jason Bourne series of films.
If the government really wanted to do anything about non existent, incorrect, incomplete, or out of date paperwork they could do it easily.0 -
Hi,
My wife has been driving for 15 years but has only had her licence in the UK for 1 year.
I checked and if I change it so she has had the UK licence for 15 years our premium goes down by 50%.
Are there any insurance companies that will take into account foreign licences held and no claims bonus?
She has had a US licence for over 10 years.
oh and sorry i couldnt see how to start a new thread
Thanks0 -
Visitors to the UK break those same laws just as much as Brits do abroad.
Exactly.
Amusing to see these kind of threads moaning about foreign drivers getting away with speeding etc are about the same frequency as ones by UK drivers gloating that they can't be prosecuted for speed camera offences in France.
It works both ways.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
