New credit card for credit building

Hi,

My bankruptcy entry dropped off from my records as of 2 weeks ago! :beer:

I was looking at the "eligible offers" on Noddle for credit cards, some of the cards contain "Have no history of bankruptcy" for eligibility.

Does this mean "ever been bankrupt or the history in the credit files?

Noddle website highlighted my eligibility for this card (Barclays Platinum Purchase) as "Excellent".

I already have a CashPlus CreditBuilder which I had been using for nearly 10 months.

I would suggest this means an existing history of bankruptcy on your report, which you haven't got. If they do not ask you whether you have been bankrupt before on the application form (if they did you would of course have to confirm), then they are only interested in bankruptcy showing up on the credit search. I believe it is more common for questions like this to be asked on applications for mortgages etc.

^ unless on the application they ask "Have you ever been declared bankrupt?" - that has to be answered honestly even if not on the credit file.

Thanks both. So I can safely assume that Noddle's eligibility report means I have no history of bankruptcy as it is no longer in my credit files.

Unless obviously if I see an application form that asks "have you ever been declared bankrupt".
