Which replacement spring for door lock?

    Hi I am looking for a replacement spring for the 1930's door lock.

    It would never have occurred to me that I might be able to get a replacement spring for any lock. Let alone one of that age. You live and learn.
    I can afford anything that I want.
    Just so long as I don't want much.

    Ah, I'm not sure if you can any more.
    I remember my mum replacing the springs when I was little.


    I should imagine that I need some old, dusty iron mongers / hardware shop. I doubt that they still make them.


    I was just wondering if anyone had some knowledge of something similar that might do the trick.
    I would rather replace the spring than the entire lock.

    Yes, I believe they are - they 're not a perfect match though.


    One of the 'legs' is much longer than I need.
    it might be that it will sit in the lock without any problems, it might need to be cut.
    I have no idea if it's possible to cut this type of metal.


    Naturally, I would like the exact ones if possible.
