How to stop dog peeing on plants.

I recently planted a lovely lavender plant in my garden. However, I noticed it looking a bit unwell & realised my dog is weeing on it.

I bought a dog deterrent spray from Wilkos but it's not working.

Any advice?

I find that mine actually were attracted by the ' deterrent '.

My only solution has been to have the plants above dog height in pots, but my present two, both male, rarely !!!! a leg since castration.

You can teach a dog to pee in a certain area. You can buy special posts you put in the ground for such purpose, or otherwise just keep taking the dog out on-lead and encouraging them to pee in a certain spot. Using a difference surface (e.g. a section with gravel, slabs or grass different to the rest of your garden) may help them identify where they're meant to be going a bit more easily.
  • He's close to being an old man my dog. Got him 2 years ago from the local rescue center. He's pushing 11, so going to struggle to train him now. He's also my first ever dog, so am clueless with how to train a dog aswell.

    He's castrated too.

Was going to put it in a pot, but really wanted it to grow at the bottom of the garden. If the worst comes to the worst, it will have to go in a pot.

You can teach an old dog new tricks :) However, management might be easier. Instead of a pot, could you put something around the plant where it is now? Small picket fence, log roll type barrier, etc?

Plant lots more so he can't wee that much on all of them?
