Tick on human! Urgent!

I think the risk is higher the longer the tick is attached and feeding. This is one of the few occasions when size doesn't matter

This is NOT true! please read up on Lyme Disease a tick can expel it's stomach contents which contains the spirochettes into you regardless of how long it's been feeding.
Also Vaseline does not work, best way to remove a tick is this

As a survivor of Lyme Disease I'm really passionate in making sure people have the right information. I had chronic Lyme which rendered me disabled, unable to walk and in pain and distress for a number of years. I'm better now but it's taken me over 6 years to get back to health and fully functioning.
Please, please be careful with tick removal.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

That must have been awful Trike, so glad you are finally better, but horrible that it took 6 years.DONT BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE. GET YOUR ANIMALS NEUTERED TO SAVE LIVES.0

Trike, I didn't mean to imply there was NO risk if the tick was attached for a short time! Sorry to hear you were so badly affected."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

If you are concerned, then it would be a good idea to see your GP. There are symptoms if you might have been infected with Lyme Disease, but a two week course of antibiotics can help stopping it in the early stage.
Best to seek medical advice - as Triker says (and has sadly experienced), Lyme Disease can be very debilitating, and is not to be taken lightly.0 -
"Urgent!"? So urgent that you are asking on a money saving forum rather than consulting a doctor?0
