Why are the UK housebuilders such reactionary traditionalists? Do they think people won't buy a house if it doesn't the the same as every other estate around the country?

Those houses are so close it looks like you would have to walk sideways to shuffle down the side path.

I would assume this is a mistake, as it would be odd for your house to have windows in Neighbours garden!

Go and ask to see the conveyance plan in the sales office which will show you what will actually be yours.

What's more worrying to me is that your neighbours will park outside your house.

    All of this!

Only on a new build estate do neighbours get allocated parking directly outside someone elses windows and that person gets to pay a premium for it. What if they drive a van or like to sit in their car for a bit when they get home?
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • Should have clarified - it's a coach house, so parking spaces outside are kinda expected! Also means there's no downstairs window looking into the disputed section of the garden.

Spoke to Persimmon, who were as confused as I was. Ran through all the plans they have and they all show the original garden size. They're going to confirm it and get back to me.

Plot 68 has been reserved too - based on the original plan. So they aren't expecting a larger garden at least!!

Will post an update when anything happens...

Its a coach house which means downstairs is 3 or 4 garages and above is an apartment.

What you are saying is they are not really parking spaces they lead are drives into garages.

What is the lease position - Are you freehold and the owner of all three garages?

Normally a 999 year leasehold. The owners of the other properties that use the garages will have a shared maintenance responsibility.
