Best tablet for internet and caching web pages

I am currently planning next years holiday of a lifetime, 2 months in New Zealand, campervan, freedom.

I am a mega planner. What I envisage is a database of information, maps, notes, itineraries etc. I also want to be able to cache probably hundreds of web pages in the UK ready for the road trip. The idea is that in NZ, especially the outback parts, internet can be patchy.

I want to have as much info as possible sitting there ready for the rainy day.

Wife has an I Pad, but honestly, I cannot stand the way they operate. I want an Android tablet. I don't 'game', I don't watch films on the pad etc.

Looking at maybe the Tesco Hudl, currently selling refurbs for £59. Or, I could spend the full amount (or use vouchers) if the feeling is better new.

Any ideas/counter arguements if you please.

Also....'caching'. I want offline viewable content. Is this simply making the web page a favourite?

Thanks

    No.

Look at something like Evernote - https://evernote.com/evernote/

    There's a version for Android

I'll second Evernote. It was invented for what you have in mind and is really simple to use. Plus, if you should break or lose your tablet on the trip, you can access it from anywhere (even the wife's iPad ;)) should you need to. I use mine on my phone a lot.

The free version should be fine, but, if you are an OCD planning freak then the premium version may be worth it.:)
So to answer your question, the hudl will be fine...

No, making a web page a favourite will not cache it. With Android select options and then press Save for offline reading
Test it first though before you leave the UK.
