Not able to pay full balance on card for first time ever - couple of questions!

    Pay as much as you can reasonably afford as early as you can reasonably do so.

    This will minimise interest costs.

    Don't worry about your credit rating as long as you're paying above minimum payment.

    If there's more spending to come apply for a 0% purchases card.

    If it will take more than a few months to clear get it transferred to a 0% balance transfer card.

    Then get back to the savings habit again when all the debt is cleared.
