Zavvi cancels order and increases price

Would like some clarification as to what has happened with zavvi.
shorts advertised at £16.99 (with small text showing discount of £28) and a discount code to reduce the price down a little further.
I placed the order with the discount code and all was well. got my order confirmation.
last night i see that the price had been inflated to £45 and the discount code no longer showing.
today the price is showing again at £45 and the discount code showing again.
Zavvi have cancelled my order saying it was a problem with the offer even though they have reinstated it.
However, on the other part of their company they are still selling the shorts at £16.99 therefore confirming in my eyes that they have in fact inflated the price to allow their discount code.
can they do this?

Yeah I think they can. They made a mistake and realised, so rectified it.
The contract probably wouldn't be concluded until they'd sent the shorts or possibly you'd received them, so they have every right to cancel.
It's a pain in the bum but not much you can do, I think.0
