little rant about schools

i do enjoy my little rants lmfao

i have applied for my daughter to start at school A in september son is currently at school B so i submitted an online application for him to move to school A at the same time i did my daughters application in sept of 2013

daughter has been accepted and all is well with her

son was put on the waiting list to get into school A - we spoke to school A today for an update and they gave us the local authorities number to ring to get an update

so i call them - my daughter has a pretty unique name and they tell me that there has never been an application for a child with her first name ever in the area - but if school A are in contact then its fine that she can start as planned in september

son has a pretty common first name with a double barreled surname he is currently in year 2 - we have now been told he doesnt exist and that he has never been registered at any school or nursery in the area. i adv that school B is an academy so they checked that and nope he is not registered there. there is no record of any applications ever being made for him. i did both applications online and they have asked me to send in screen shots to prove this which i have now done

so we now we wait to see if my son appears on the system and actually has got into that school

i am just astounded that a child can be in a school for 3 years yet they have no idea that he exists!!!!!

I can. With no centralised education system it is no surprise some children aren't accounted for.
