Quick one - Defaults and Debt Collection Companies

Just a quick one guys, here's the story:
- Didn't pay my Orange bill due to a disagreement (I know, very stupid!). Still disputing the issue.
- Debt passed to their collectors
- On CheckMyFile it's showing as the following:
Balance £144 (Both Callcredit and Equifax, however Equifax report the account as closed)
Status (Callcredit) - The status of the account is unknown. The payment status has been reported as in default.
Status (Equifax) - A notice of default has been served. This usually arises from non-payment.
My question is, will the default still be marked as 'Satisfied' when I pay the debt collection company? I think it's Moorcroft.
Thanks
Mat

If its paid in full, it should be yes, if you pay in instalments it will attract an "AP" marker.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Why not continue to dispute it?
How old is the default?:beer:0 -
If your dispute with Orange is still valid and you are trying to sort it out then inform Moorcroft in writing of that. They should leave you alone.
If having a default on your file outweighs the reason for the dispute then Sourcrates is right.BSC No 248
