Halifax Trustee Accoiunt Query

My gran placed money in trust for my daughter some years ago
The account is held in the Halifax and is a standard passbook savings account in grans name re my daughter
My gran is terminally ill and moving into permanent residential care so unable to go into the bank to complete change of account details or address etc in branch
The prefferred option would be to convert this account into my daughters sole name at the same time as sorting out the change of address but I was wondering if this is possible to complete through the post
If it is what inforamtion would be required or is it simply of changing the address for now and handling the name change at a later date
Many thanks

If the account is held in bare trust, then your daughter is already the beneficial owner of the money in the account - presumably you signed an R85 so that the interest could be received tax free?
Your grandmother is still of sound mind? She could write (or you could type up for her to sign) a letter to the Halifax explaining the situation- it might be possible for the money to be transferred to a Young Saver with you as the Trustee?

A telephone call might help initially? http://www.halifax.co.uk/contactus/contactushome.asp0
