Help - CCJ and Job Offer

Hi everyone, bit of a strange query, have been offered a temp to perm role with a financial services company to start Monday (was offered the job yesterday) been completely honest with them and stated i have a CCJ, no payments have been made towards it, as only recently started temping after being laid off back last year.
The Agency have come back and said, the company want proof of payment to the DCA or my offer to pay, i haven't got anything, all my paperwork has been shredded as i'm currently moving home.
have working in financial services for 95% of my life, and they have said my credit check is fine, my integrity is 100% just this little thing, worked directly for a IFA firm as well as Natwest & HBOS never heard of this.
is there anything i can do?

Do you know which DCA it was ?
I never normally advocate ringing a DCA, but as your job depends on this, ring them and ask for details of the account, take note of what they say, don't say anything else, just get the facts, then write out a "offer of payment letter", print it off and hey presto, show that to your potential employer, then follow up with the DCA at a later stage.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Have you previously written to the creditor at all - even if it was to say you were currently unable to afford any repayments?
Are you in a position financially where you could now make an offer to pay?
Could you write to the creditor today with an offer of payment? and then show them a copy of that?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
thanks for the reply guys, i will be in a position to make payments once i'm working as the role pays very well 23k pa once i'm perm, have said to the agency all ready that i'm willing to contact the DCA (BCW) and make an offer of payment to them and follow it up in writing, and make a token payment today.
even offered to show the new employer proof of the payments once plan is in force, just waiting to here back from HR (well it their compliance dept on whether they will accept this)Life and Investment Support Exec,

Oh well their loss not mineLife and Investment Support Exec,

That's such a shame about the withdrawal of the job offer. Have you got other temping work to go to?
I really, really wish that we were more educated on debt, money etc from a very young age to avoid all of this happening to do many of us.
Although I am paying my debts there is no way a financial organisation would take me on because my credit score would be too low which is a shame but oh well!0 -
I should add that it is vital to take responsibility for paying and you are now doing this so well done
I hope you find something soon. 0 -

I agree, it should be part of the National curriculum, to learn financial skills at an early age would certainly benefit a great deal of people.
As things stand you finish school with little or no knowledge of how to manage your money.
Lots of people, (myself included) ran up stupid debts when they were young, and then spend the best part of the next 10 years paying it all off.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Am currently temping at the moment and have been since March for a financial services firm who compliance dept where fine with my credit history.
Was looking for a permanent role rather than temporary but it's was all a rush job didn't even have an interview for the role applied Tuesday morning got offered it yesterday to start Monday lol
But will conquer my sorry excuse for a credit file if it kills me lolLife and Investment Support Exec,

massive support from me here!!! I am suffering the perils of the FCA at the moment. They are taking over 8 weeks to authorise me. One default I was honest about on my application. now having to sign up to be fired if I miss payments!!

This is incredibly bad advice.
Not only would you set yourself up to get sacked when it was discovered what you had done but people can and are prosecuted for fraud by making deliberately false statements in job applications.
Only today in our local rag was a report of a guy who got a suspended sentence of 18 months and 200 hours community service for saying he was a qualified teacher when he had failed to take the final assessment.0
