Getting rid of Internet Download Manager

Can anyone help please. I used a trial version of Internet Download Manager as suggested on a post here on MSE (which I cannot now find), but decided not to pay after the 30 days trial period. Towards the end of the trial a flash appeared every time I opened my computer advising that the trial period was ending and that Internet Download Manager was exiting and did I want to register. I kept saying NO but now the 30 days has been over for 2 weeks and the flash keeps appearing stating that the trial is over and IDM is exiting. If I click on OK it just directs me to their home page even if I am not connected to the Internet. This is so annoying, does anyone know a simple way to get rid. I have tried to uninstall on the Install/Uninstall but it states there is a problem uninstalling. As I am not a computer buff, please keep any advice in simpleton format. Many thanks.

Have you tried uninstalling via Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs? (Or is that what you mean by Install/Uninstall?)
I don't know anything about IDM, but you could try following the FAQ problems with uninstall at http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/faq.html which mentions downloading a program for uninstalling older versions of IDM.0 -
Thanks Yes I did mean Add/Remove Programmes, that is the problem it doesn't work and it is a recent programme not an older one, so the FAQ section was not much help either. I have e-mailed IDM so may get a response."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0
