Apparently I need the agreement number and the car reg and they will fax me the document.

Now, who do I know that might have a fax machine?

Tell them you will accept a PDF. A fax machine is a rare beast these days.

I used to use some fax software on my old PC that would send and receive faxes over a dial up modem and save them in PDF.

I was still using it last year :D

So , would a clear HPi check do?

We still haven't collected the car - planning on doing so in the next couple of days. We have been waiting for the payment to clear.
It now shows as clear on the HPI check is that proof enough that the finance has been settled?

If you like, that should do. But for the sake of a phone call, why not just ask the finance company?

Never understand why people won't just pick up the phone and speak to someone.

If you are a consumer using HPI for their full check with the money back guarantee AND you comply with the additional checks you have to do, then there really isn't anything more you can, or have to bother, doing.
