What can I do?
The garage is 10 miles away. The trader seems to be fully aware of his responsibilities - he has attempted to repair the car on both occasions and the second time he gave me a courtesy car.
However, it still isn't right, and the 22 mile round trip is costing me in time and petrol and I don't want the hassle of having to keep taking it over there. The courtesy car is an L reg toyota which isn't big enough (four kids, seven seater usually) and I am having to pay £25 each time to transfer my insurance.
Can I request that either he collects the car, or that the work is done locally? Where would I stand on requesting a refund?
I do have little faith in the garage. Before we bought the car we requested a transmission service. This was promised to have been done and we went to pick the car up a couple of weeks later. I mentioned I was taking it to mercedes for a free check the next day. Went round to find the car, as it was taking a while for them to bring it up front, and it was on the ramp having the fluid change!!

No it was your choice to buy ten miles away .
But you could pay for the work to be done locally and try to claim the costs back .0
