  • Morning all, my lovely DD is coming home for the weekend this evening, it's the last time I'll see her before she takes a World Challenge trip and 42 pupils to Zambia in July so I'm going to make it a special time for all of us. She is an adventurous spirit, always has been so I.m used to her taking trips but it's always a huge relief when she walks back into arrivals at the airport at the end of it all.

Hugs and love to everyone trying to deal with what seem insurmountable problems and there are lots of us doing that, I send you all very much love and hope that your problems become manageable ones very soon, Lyn xxx.

    Morning All
Thought I had better poke my head in.
Got back from Spain OK, had a lovely Fathers Day BBQ with DSs in laws and family, who make us very welcome. Then called to drop a couple of bits off to one of our ex neighbours, who is not at all well. Caught most of the post and scanning back up to date. Been to see GN&N and left Skye with them which the 4 year old GNephew loves, while we went to Aldi. They had a new ordering system, so several bits not in stock, hence an email off to them. Made an attempt at the jungle which was supposed to be a garden, but had gone manic with the wet and warm weather. Spoke to our Caravanning friends in Hull, and decided as we both had the weekend free (rare event) to go away in our vans to the East Coast. A quick trip to Asda for bits not available at Aldi (very unusual) and popped to see a friend who has had a minor op., got outer clothes in the van, then most of,rather food, last bits this morning, and then we are off again!! We the have 10 nights at home before we are off again.☺️
Managed to bring my Determatology appointment forward, so now go on Tuesday. My skin doesn't like me much ATM.
Molly. ((Hugs)). Hopefully you have got Mum back into her own place, and looking after herself. If they decree it will happen, it will, but it will fail, you cannot do everything, and your op is just around the corner isn't it? Just make sure the care package is there, and the carers tell SS when there is a problem not you. That is their easy route..
LW. Hope the hols haven't been too much for you? Or was it too much Hestering!!
Hilly. Hope you are OK, and have let them know the treatment was too much for you.
598ers. Pleased to hear your news, yes it is nice to pop in for good and bad.
Julie Sympathies, I had that problem when they tried hormone tablets to sort out my monthlies, I can remember sat at work in a meeting with a room full of fellas, sat with my arms crossed supporting them.
RR. Hope your neck eases soon, I had it once and boy is it painful.
Judi. Hope DS's has the apprenticeship sorted.
((Hugs)), spoons, etc., all round, grab a handful. Take care everyone. DG

    Hi everyone,

Lots of earlybirds around. Molly, I hope you get things sorted out with SS.

JO I stopped watching the football as well. It's not the game because I love watching football it's the commentators when England are playing that make me cross. I can't stand the one-sided stance they take and I know a lot of people wouldn't agree with me but I'd much rather they were neutral.

I've got a hair appointment this morning for a tidy up before I go to Wimbledon on Monday, where I shall be completely partisan if I'm lucky enough to watch Andy Murray or Laura Robson, contrary to what I was just saying about the football.

I must also spend a good part of the day finishing the hand sewing on the quilt I am making because I want to take it down to DD's on Sunday for her friend to collect. I'll try to post some pics on Facebook when it's finished.

    Have a good day.

    Good morning :)

I have managed to sort breakfast (pancakes) and packed everyone off to school / work so it's time to sit down for a coffee.

We need to get our finances in order so, as of Monday, it will be pack lunches rather than the canteen / school dinners. I need to look at pack lunch ideas as there are moans and groans about it already.

Friday is chippie night so I won't have to prepare any meals for tonight. I do want to try and sort the shoe cupboard out though. It's so frustrating when even a little job can leave me exhausted but I am trying to do a bit each day.

I don't really know you all right now to leave personal messages but I hope all who are ill, or going through a difficult time, soon see things improving and I bid everyone a lovely day today, whatever you're up to :)

    Morning all,

Fiftyeighter - That's good news and I bet it was wonderful for you that he rang you first.

JackieO - I remembered seeing this yesterday. Any use to your DGS? http://www.go-rg.com/jobs/view/packing-operatives.html?cid[0]=880
For some reason the complete link won't go blue so you have to cut and paste and include the numbers at the end.

Just got back and hung out the washing, it doesn't look too summery out there at the moment. I do hope it brightens up a bit more.
Not much to report today, so I'll wish you all a happy Friday and go away.

Afternoon all, well it was morning when I started the post but I got somewhat sidetracked.

Molly whinge away. I for one like to know what progress your making with your parents even if there is none.

My school friend is having problems with her Father at the moment. He lives on his own and has been in hospital a few times due to one thing and another but the top and tail of it is he's losing the will to live. He is not looking after himself which is so unlike him. My friend is an only child. She works full time, has one child still at home with a child from a failed relationship. Her son is still recovering from a kidney transplant he had a few months ago donated by his Father. The last thing my friend needs right now is an elderly Father who can help himself but wont. She's battling with him and Social Services at the moment. The old man lives 3 doors up from me but doesn't like visitors. Me and my next door neighbour have offered to pop in and see him but its no good popping in if he doesn't want to see us. Meanwhile my friend is battling on.

Congratulations on the wedding anniversary Hester. You cant beat a bit (a lot is better) of 'hestering'. Its free as well.:T
DG good to have you back though it was nice to see your updates on FB.

    Hilstep, thinking of you.

All is well with me. Bright and sunny here. Two loads of washing out and it will be dry in no time.

Didn't sleep well last night, stuff on my mind. Decided to for once go to bed when hubby went to bed last night. We rarely go to bed together but he went to bed later than usual, I went to bed earlier than usual and I regretted it soon after cause I couldn't sleep.

Not sure what I'm doing for tea tonight, beef but that's as far as I've got.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

    Hi all
Boy what a long day, made longer by people who flap instead of just letting me get on.
Anyway, DGD has been to gym club & taken home, hubby is going out with a friend later, once he's gone I shall have a nana nap 'til it's time to collect him.
JackieO, I live quite close to Pangbourne college & the Falklands chapel.
I'm hoping to sleep better tonight, I'm dropping hubby at work at 8 tomorrow & DD at work at 9 & then need to go to the sorting office to collect a parcel, then I really need to do some housework.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Evening all,

Another late one from me, my feet haven't touched the ground today.
After food shopping first thing, went with dh to his last job and then we dropped son and his gf off in Buxton as they are camping overnight. Gf has bought him a treat which includes a ghost walk. They were both terrified, but excited. I'm sure they will enjoy it. At least the weather is good.
So two hrs there and back, it was gone eight when we got back. Have just eaten tea and slumped in front of Gardeners world.
Thanks for the replies re the booby situation lol:o still sore. I started Tegretol a few months ago along with a B12 replacement as mine is low. Both tablets list water retention as a side effect, so I'm guessing it could be that. Anyway started on the water tablets today so hopefully that will improve things. Dh certainly hopes so. Absolutely no Hetstering in this house until they feel better:rotfl:
Feeling exhausted so I shall sign out. Enjoy your evening xx

    Hester

If you haven't done so try to have a look around inside its really beautiful and so peaceful in the chapel. All three of my nephew's children have gone there, and now only the youngest is still there. Lovely school, and the youngsters were so polite and helpful to the adults..A lovely spot to live near to the river .
