Thanks for the post very informative.

@ raeble: Your so anal. Oooh it possibly, just might not have been posted in the correct forum. Go and iron your pants.
There is no need to be quite so rude and abusive. I was just pointing out that it might not be the right forum for that. If I was truly being anal, I would not have bothered to contribute to the discussion I would just have queried the post with the mods or just posted that it was in the I thought it shouldn't be in the wrong forum. If you want anal here you go - it should be you're as in you are instead of your which means something quite different. Perhaps you ought to spend more time ironing your pants and less time insulting people.

I doubt you'll regret downgrading! My dh is a TV Addict and broke out in a sweat at the mere thought of downgrading - but, we did it! I asked him only last week if he missed the movie channels .....

    .... nope!!! :D:D:D

planning to get rid of the movie channels but fiance can't bear to miss the sports, so going to downgrade to sky sports world + family pack. will save £8 a month, which i can put to a better use.

phoned today and was asked to call back on 1st of june, so have made note in diary.

It is jolly unfair of Sky if they don't reimburse all subscribers who have been paying for E4 as part of their subscription. Channel 4 will lose c. £20million a year from Sky for going on a free-to-air platform (Freeview), but hope they can recoup it in advertising revenue. Will Sky pass on that £20m in cutting monthly bills - I think not. It will go on the bottom line and to shareholders.

Please excuse me if I'm out of touch - but I don't think you need to subscribe at all to receive the "free" channels if you have a receiver and a digibox.

Just phoned sky (using 08002792000 option 1 of course - thanks saynoto0870.com!!) and they confirmed that E4 is definitly only gonna be available as a paid channel with sky and they have no plans to make it a free channel. They didn't even try to keep my custom when I said it'd probably work out better for me to get a freeview box!!
