I am forever looking at dog on dog aggression articles etc and today came across this one and frankly my jaw hit the floor at "replies" to question on here and general attitude/tone (example:

what do you think?A.
Your husband made a serious mistake. It will have a life long effect on your dog. You are not going to change what happened, now you have to figure out how to deal with the results of doing something stupid.,

Its a website that sells prong and shock collars, what else would you expect?0

Completely barking.
Then again, it is an American site and some people over there seem happy to use prong collars, electric shock collars and lord knows what else, so I suspect you've stumbled on the loony fringe element with this lot.
I'd quite like to see him growling at other people's dogs and waving sticks around over here to see what reaction he gets. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Well, my hackles started to rise when mention of "leader of the pack" arose - and I started to growl and back away at the mention of electric collars. I decided to do as my dog would do if he couldn't eat it or hump it - pee on the article and walk away!
It's a rubbish article!0 -
The banned words filter won't let me type what I really think, so lets go with:
IdiotSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

The example you quote doesn't even offer any advice, just criticism! And he contradicts himself, one minute he says something will have a life-long effect on the dog, the next he says dogs live in the present and you can change things.
Anyway, I thought a lot of the 'pack' mentality stuff had recently been discredited?
I know a few people whose young dogs have been attacked and whilst it may have made them nervous it didn't make them dog-aggressive. Not saying it never does, just that he says it 'always' does.
Sites like this make me grind my teeth - I'm no dog-training expert but even I can see glaring mistakes in what he says. :mad:I want my sun-drenched, wind-swept Ingrid Bergman kiss, Not in the next life, I want it in this, I want it in this
Use your imagination, or you can borrow mine!0 -
Of course I agree with all above - what if someone takes this site seriously though? Jesssss :eek:0

The bloke can't even spell. Can't take him seriously on that alone.0
