sending money to U.s prisons from the u.k

I have a really good friend who is currently in a Federal Prison in America...can anyone tell me how to pay into her commissary account from the u.k using something like Moneygram or Western Union?Its REALLY simple if i was in the usa, but i just can't work out how to do it from the u.k!!!:(

I've previously used JPay.
You can also use it to email prisoners. In most cases the email is printed and given to the prisoner. Some US prisoners have electronic access to JPay and can reply directly.

Depends on the state and the prison within that state. JPay might be an option if the prison accepts it. A cheque or banker's draft drawn in USD or a Western Union Money Transfer might be options but check first on the prison website or phone them.
Another option might be Lebara Money where you get two cards, one for yourself and one for your friend: You load it in the U.K. and they can use their card to withdraw it. But again check with the prison.
Note that in general, U.S. prisoners don't have access to the Internet and email.0
